4,000 ft, 24 hours, 14 teams, 3 peaks…
Never ones to shy away from hard work, Zibrant are proud to be hosting our very own Charity Three Peaks Challenge on the 20th an 21st September 2007 and we would be delighted if you joined us...
We will be walking and hiking over 22 miles, sometimes at 4000 feet, scaling the three highest peaks in the UK; Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, all in less than 24 hours.
We can’t guarantee the weather or even the terrain but we can guarantee that you will have an amazing experience and by joining us on our charity challenge you will help us raise a minimum of £30,000 for some very worthy causes.
The monies raised will be split to support our four nominated charities, one of which will be chosen by a Zibrant member of staff, something that is closely linked to our CSR programme. The other charities we have chosen to support include Meeting Needs, Oxfam Unwrapped and Mountain Rescue; although we’re confident we will all be so fit and well prepared that we will not be needing the service of Mountain Rescue during this event!
So how can we prepare ourselves for one of the most gruelling challenges the UK has to offer? By training and determination. "In order to participate in such a physically demanding endurance event there is a tremendous amount of preparation and training we need to do to give ourselves and team mates the best chances of succeeding - fitness is key for the challenge and we will provide as much support as we can for everyone taking part." explains John Kelly, Head of Marketing, "We take great pride in hosting this event and are really excited about pushing the boundaries for ourselves and the competitors and the significant amount of money we hope to raise for our charities!"
Zibrant’s Charity Three Peaks Challenge is great way for us to communicate our values to our key stakeholders and develop our Corporate Social Responsibility programme, which underpins our corporate culture and business philosophies.
Fay Sharpe, Head of Zibrant’s CSR committee and Sales & Marketing Director comments, "Fitness has never been something that comes naturally to me, so when my team suggested the Three Peaks Challenge as part of our CSR programme, I just had to ask why, especially as I would be expected to lead the way! The answer was simple, it’s a real Zibrant thing to do; Corporate Social Responsibility is central to us at Zibrant and this is a great opportunity to share our values with you, our clients, suppliers and staff; we can demonstrate how we live our values in a very tangible way whilst raising awareness and money for our chosen charities and I couldn’t agree further!"
Naturally we want the event to leave a great impression with you, but not a lasting impression on the mountains. Consequently Zibrant as part of our CSR promise will offset all carbon emissions generated by the event - The only footprints left behind will be yours!
It’s going to be hard work in an unforgiving environment; blisters are certain, exhaustion, a possibility, but the personal satisfaction and reward of completing this gruelling challenge will be incredible and we would love to share the experience with you!
