Support crew A |
As support crew you are responsible for registering challengers as they start their challenge and registering challengers back in after their climb, providing them with some much needed refreshments.
Whilst climbers are away you will remain in constant contact with the teams via radio and text message. The drivers should be resting in-between drives so noise levels need to be kept down.
There MUST be at least two-support crew with the vehicles at the foot of each peak at all times. This is so someone will be by the radio should any emergency arise.
When the climbers finish the peak, you are to register them in and provide them with water quickly so they can head back to their vehicles and start the next leg of their journey.
- Approx 1 hour before the climbers arrive back at the vehicles the climbers will contact the support team by radio or mobile phone so as to give the support team enough time to make sure they are prepared.
- When climbers arrive back they will immediately rendez-vous at the support crew vehicles ready to be registered in so please ensure you remain at the vehicles at this time, with refreshments ready.
- During each journey between peaks time will be allowed for short service station breaks to allow for drivers to get a break and re-fuel and for everyone to freshen up – make the most out of these stops cause the alternative toilet facilities are the foliage on the peaks!
- On arrival at the next peak the walkers will do any warm up stretches they require, put on kit for the attempt at the peak and set off with the minimum of fuss.
