Zibrant Three Peaks Challenge

20th - 21st September
Climbing Brief
You will be given route maps for each mountain in the briefing, detailing the start location (where the support crew will be based), please keep these safe as you will need them the whole way through the challenge.

It is important to keep to your time slots whilst climbing and an electronic tagging system will be in place at each mountain guide checkpoint to monitor your progress. The nominated team leader on each team will have attended a training day on mountain awareness and orienteering, however, if you have any doubts please let the Three Peak Team know as soon as possible.

At the foot of Ben Nevis, a compulsory kit check will be carried out and sorry for sounding like party poopers, but if you don’t have the required kit and clothes, you wont be climbing.

Each team will be given identification tags corresponding with the vehicle id tags (as discussed in briefing) which must remain clearly visible at all times.

  • When you arrive at the base of each mountain, please be ready to get out of the vehicle straight away as there may be nowhere for the driver to stop.
  • You must head straight to the support crew vehicles where you will be registered.
  • The support crew will instruct you when you can start your ascent.
  • There are mountain guides stationed upon the route so please ensure you stop and present your team id tag at each one.
  • You will be provided with radios to ensure you can keep in constant contact with your support crew and please use text messages to keep in touch as well. Please don’t use the radio to chat to your friends as they are there to ensure you all stay on track and safe.
  • When you finish your climb, remember to head straight back down to the support crew who will register you again.
  • If your driver has been unable to park in the immediate area, please text them to arrange your pick up so you can start the next leg of the journey.
NB When on the mountains, please follow the route detailed on your map, deviating from the route is unsafe and could mean you’re climbing for a lot longer than necessary.
